Nashville, Tenn. Dec. 1, 2011… On the heels of their critically acclaimed sophomore album Ghosts Upon the Earth, Gungor has nabbed their third consecutive GRAMMY ® nomination. Their latest record, which debuted at No. 3 on Christian Soundscan and top 50 on the Billboard Top 200 selling over 9,500 units, was recognized in the "Best Contemporary Christian Music Album" category. The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards will take place live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

Produced by the group's namesake, Michael Gungor, Ghosts Upon the Earth was primarily written by Michael and his wife Lisa who is also a featured vocalist in this musical collective. Recorded in numerous locations, including the Gungor's home, the album also includes seventeen players, four additional vocalists, a six-person string ensemble and a boy's choir. Inspiration for the album was orchestrated from Gungor's weeklong meditation in Assisi where he was inspired by the Saint's view of the world, as well as from the birth of their daughter last year.

Gungor just wrapped the hugely successful "7 Tour" featuring David Crowder*Band, John Mark McMillan and Chris August. The line-up sold out in 75% of the markets including stops in New York City, Dallas, Portland and more.

About Gungor:
GRAMMY ® nominated Gungor earned critical acclaim with their latest record Beautiful Things (Brash) upon its release in February 2010. Amidst appearing at well known Passion and Catalyst conferences and headlining the unique "Beautiful Things Events," this musical collective hailing from Colorado has earned two GRAMMY ® nominations as well as a GMA Dove Award nomination. Worship Leader magazine named Beautiful Things their top CD release of 2010 while both Relevant magazine and CCM gave the record honorable mentions in their celebrated year end lists. Gungor released the GRAMMY ® nominated Ghosts Upon the Earth in September.
